The 2022-23 curling season began with a good turnout for the Opening Bonspiel playing for the Channel Trophy. Rinks skipped by J Saunderson and G Skea played each other with J Brownlie taking on J Nelson on the other sheet. After 5 ends Jim B & George were 7-1 up. At the last end George was 2 stones to the good but Jim was leading by 4 until Johnny pinched the end by 1 meaning George was this years winner.
