This week has seen 2 trophies decided, both featuring George with mixed success. On Monday the final of the Mixed League took place between the rinks of George Skea, Fiona Doig, Arthur Lawrie & Leslie Mearns and David Hornyak, Wilma Brownlie, John Cassells & Jean Halliday. David built up a comfortable lead of 4 in the first 3 ends and although George got a couple of points of the next two ends David came back strongly to settle it 7-2 over 7 ends.
George along with Michael Longstaffe took on Ian Hawkins paired with David Dumbreck in the pairs final on Thursday. This time George had a strong lead after 3 ends but Ian and David came back but were just unable to tip the balance making it a 5-4 win for George and Michael.
