Nelson

Nelson Trophy played as Club League

William Nelson (Bill), Johnny’s dad presented this trophy to the club in 1947

Originally having his own haulage business in Gallowhill Road, he later moved to a farming career at West Brackley Farm on the outskirts of Kinross, where the family are still farming there today.

He joined the club in 1945 & became President in Season 1955-56

A curling family, father, mother, 3 sons & a daughter.

Father Bill, sons Bill & Johnny all joining Orwell, son Sandy joined Kinross, mother Lil joined Kinross Ladies & daughter Nancy joining Tulliallan when she married.

Bill & Nancy no longer curl, but to this day there is still great friendly rivalry between Johnny & Sandy when they meet each other on the ice!
