There are two trophies;

Thompson Cup for the Points - for highest overall

&

Gardner Salver - for Highest up Second or Lead in Points

Thompson Cup

Arthur Thompson joined the club in 1932. He was the owner of the Royal Hotel in Milnathort then the Bridgend Hotel in Kinross.

He was a very wealthy man & following his death 'The Arthur & Margaret Thompson Trust' was set up, a charity established for the benefit of the people of Kinross-shire.

As yet, I can find no information about this Trophy, still researching!

Gardner Salver

This trophy was the idea of Alex C. Gardner, Clydesdale Bank Manager, Milnathort, who joined the club in 1966

In 1992, he gave a generous presentation to the club of £100 to be used for a trophy for 2nds & leads in the Points competition.

Currently this is awarded to The Highest up Second or Lead in the Points Competition

Trophy inscription reads: Orwell Curling Club The Gardner Salver
